The Range Rover VELAR we have looked
after for the past few years was in very good company at the recent biennial
Open Weekend of the Dunsfold Land Rover Collection in Surrey.

On the right is AOY 289H which is the oldest surviving RR in the world. It is the sixth of the seven Engineering Prototype cars and was built in 1969.
On the left is newly-restored YVB 166H which is one of the 27 Pre-production vehicles. It was driven by Land Rover’s Roger Crathorne to victory in the first Hill Rally in the UK in May 1971.
In the centre is NXC 245H which is one of the batch of twenty cars build before production began specifically for the Press Launch of the Range Rover in June 1970.
All three vehicles shown here were originally registered as VELARs.
